At Rapid7, I wrote everything from button copy to technical documentation. As a Senior UX and Technical Writer, I tackled the challenge of making cybersecurity understandable and easy to use. 

I worked on InsightVM, a vulnerability management platform, helping security professionals identify, assess, and remediate vulnerabilities in their IT environments. My day-to-day involved collaborating with product managers, engineers, UX designers, and researchers to translate vulnerability concepts into guidance that made sense to users.

Here's some of the features I worked on for both microcopy and technical documentation:

• Goals Wizard – Redesigned a multi-step interface that was causing 95% of users to abandon goal creation by reimagining the feature. Wrote the UI microcopy and the product docs. 

• Report Builder – Created a report builder with customizable templates and audience-specific optimization, so security teams could generate executive summaries or dive deep into technical details.

• Executive Summary Report – A monthly vulnerability management overview for executives, with easy-to-read visuals showing remediation progress over time. Wrote the UI microcopy for the report builder, the visuals and their captions in the generated report, and the product docs. 

• Custom Policy Builder – Built this feature to help security teams used to create, edit, and customize vulnerability scanning policies.
